i haven’t posted in a long while. for some reason, i wanted to post this more than other things that happen since my last post. i guess subconsciously, this is the most important/interesting event since then. ha.

i have a 0% APR on balance transfer for life on a credit card, but the catch is to make 2 transactions per month in order to keep the APR at 0%. all credit card companies put your payment toward the lower interest rate principal before it will put it toward the higher one. that means that in order to keep the 0% APR, you have to buy twice a month, and that amount better not be big, otherwise you will have to pay a hefty interest rate month after month until the original balance transfer is paid off. i found the perfect means to achieve this – iTunes store. so now i just have to set up a outlook reminder to buy twice from iTunes each month. I just made my first purchases. I have to say iTunes store is really easy to use and very convenient. the only thing i don’t like is the crappy 128 bit rate quality. this is even more pronounce now that i am trying on a really good pair of headphones.
i am currently testing both the Shure E3c and Ultimate Ears super.fi 5 pro. I think most of the reviews i read are accurate. Shure is cleaner, doesn’t have much bass, very low noise floor. you can’t hear much white noise while the iPod is on but not playing any music. The ultimate ears are not as clean sounding, but much much stronger bass. it has a constant audible white noise just having the headphones plugged in, of course you can’t detect it once you are playing music. regarding what people say about comfort, i don’t have a problem with either. and yea, the cord on the super.fi 5 pro tangle a lot, like the reviews say. but i don’t think this is because the cord is very cheap / thin / low quality. i just think the sheath is more sticky and the cord is more stiff, making it want to hold it’s shape and tangling and sticking on itself.
i think for most people listening to rock, hip-hop, pop, the Ultimate Ears will be better. Just because the bass it pumps out is soo much stronger. I read not even the more expensive E4c can match the bass on the super fi 5 pro.
so i haven’t posted for couple months. things have changed quite a bit for me. i have a new job (Healthline.com) after working at my old job for almost 7 years. and i moved to the beautiful city of San Francisco. i am really enjoying it. rent is much higher, yet the size and amenities are much smaller/less. but one thing i save and can’t really put a price to it is the time and convenience i have over at east bay.
i upgraded the firmware of my Linksys wireless router, and cannot access company VPN with XP default VPN client afterwards. can’t find previous version in their website. i gave up and downloaded the Nortel VPN Client that my company recommended. but that client sucks. was going to leave it that way when i talked to my friend Mike and he suggested calling tech-support and ask for older firmware. i did and they send me an ftp link to the previous firmware download. re-flashed my router and i can use default XP VPN client again!! thanks Mike.
my insurance offered a settlement, it’s on the low side. I will have to check out the fair market value of the bike and negotiate with them. hopefully i can get a little bit more.
well it happened last weekend. maybe i'll post more details later.
i was cleaning my BBQ grill and getting rid of the spiderwebs by vacuuming it. while trying to vacuum the underneath, i saw a big wasp and then the hive. the wasp is as big as the hive.
about 14 years ago, i saw bunch of beehives underneath the awning of the house i was living in. i was waterning the garden, and stupid me tried to hose the hives down. yeah, it worked, but i also got stung, and have to go to the hospital. if it wasn't this experience, i probabably would've vacuumed the beehive out. it should be relatively safe, wouldn't it? small beehive and only 1 wasp should be no match for a Hoover.
